'I like to play for free and in places where people least expect to see live music, to help create beautiful and pleasant experiences for them. As musicians, I like the fact that we are accessible and that we perform in intimate and less-formal settings, not only on stage. Concerts do offer the audience a better appreciation of our music and an enjoyable experience, but the street provides a much more sincere and spontaneous relationship with them. On the street you always start from scratch, it’s a reminder that you have to be humble… It gives you a direct reflection of what you are and what you offer, and you can learn a lot from that. People stay to listen only if they really like what you’re doing. I also like the fact that my music can reach everyone. There are a lot of people who would have never heard this type of music or seen these types of instruments, if they hadn’t seen me on the street.'

¿Has venido alguna vez a Toledo y has visto a Ana Alcaide tocando la viola de teclas o nyckelharpa?Durante los últimos años Ana ha dado a conocer su música de una forma especial: integrándola con la estética y con el pasado histórico de la ciudad. Ana interpreta su música en calles y lugares emblemáticos del casco antiguo, acercándola de forma directa al público general y dando a conocer su peculiar instrumento, creado así una forma única de difusión musical.
‘Me gusta ofrecer música de una forma inesperada y gratuita, contribuir a crear experiencias bellas y gratas en las personas. Me gusta que los músicos seamos personas accesibles y estemos al servicio del público. Me gusta ofrecer mi trabajo de forma cercana, no solo en los escenarios de los auditorios. Los conciertos permite una mayor apreciación y disfrute por parte del espectador, pero la calle aporta una relación mucho mas sincera y espontánea con la gente. En la calle siempre se parte de cero, hay que trabajar cada instante y es un reflejo de lo que tu eres y de lo que ofreces, es una oportunidad constante para aprender. No se da nada por hecho y la gente solo se queda a escuchar si realmente le llega lo que haces. También me gusta hacer un trabajo de divulgación. Hay muchas personas que si no fueran porque me ven en la calle, nunca escucharían este tipo de música ni verían este tipo de instrumentos.’
