ANA ALCAIDE: Luna Sefardita
Luna Sefardita (`Sephardic Moon’) is the song of Alina, a girl who personifies the history of the Sephardic people and leaves Toledo, embarking on a long journey of exile, and following the traces of the moon in her own search and reunion.
Her nostalgic walk traces a bridge to the past and proposes a sonic journey through various Mediterranean landscapes. The repertoire offers a musical walk through the 'Spain of the Three Cultures': Rhythms of Pasacalles, oriental melodies, Sephardic legends, old and new compositions of ancient inspiration. The song lyrics are mainly in Judeo-Spanish or 'ladino', as well as in modern spanish. The repertoire contains songs as 'La Mujer de Terah,' Como la luna y el sol', '' Khun Caravan 'and' The bitter well '.
Luna Sefardita concert has been described as ‘an idyllic journey through the three cultures, a highly emotional lesson seen through history’. Her music is often described as the ‘Toledo soundtrack’.
‘These songs are inspired by the city of Toledo and the journey of the Sephardic Jews. They travel along routes and through landscapes and languages, following the trail of a journey that perhaps never reached its final destination: that of the exile of the Sephardic Jews who, like many others, chose such a path in their desire to preserve their identity. Their voice lives on and is a testament to an unwavering faith that has stood the test of time.
A great journey is a reflection of who we are. It forces us to shed layers, to become aware of who we are and to discover our true self. ‘Luna sefardita’ es la canción de Alina, una niña que personifica la historia de los sefardíes y abandona Toledo emprendiendo un largo viaje de exilio, y en el que seguirá los rastros de la luna en su propia búsqueda y reencuentro. Su caminar nostálgico traza un puente hacia el pasado y propone un viaje sonoro por diversos paisajes mediterráneos.
El repertorio ofrece un paseo musical por la España de las culturas: canciones a ritmo de pasacalles, melodías orientales, leyendas sefardíes y nuevas composiciones de inspiración antigua. Letras en castellano y en en judeoespañol o ‘ladino’. En el concierto sonarán temas como ‘La Mujer de Terah, ‘Como la luna y el sol’, ‘Khun Caravan’ y ‘El pozo amargo’.
Este concierto se ha descrito como 'un viaje idílico por las tres culturas, una lección emocional desde ha historia'.
‘Estas canciones se inspiran en Toledo y en el viaje de los Sefardíes. Recorren caminos, paisajes y lenguas que siguen la estela de un viaje que quizás nunca encontró destino: elde destierro y no retorno de los Sefardíes, que como muchos otros pueblos emprendieron en su afán de mantener su identidad. Su voz siguió cantando, fiel e inquebrantable al paso del tiempo.
Un gran viaje es espejo de lo que somos. Nos obliga a desprendernos de capas, a tomar conciencia de nosotros mismos, a descubrir nuestra esencia. Nos permite escuchar la voz antigua y poderosa que desde tiempos ancestrales resuena dentro de nosotros.
